Parent Partnerships

At Lapal Grange our aim is to develop strong, purposeful home-preschool links based on mutual trust and understanding. We work in partnership with parents to ensure there is continuity of care. It is important that we involve you as much as possible in your child's education and well being, and will always make provisions for you to visit to share any concerns, listen to your worries and conduct any necessary discussions.

We adore hearing about your life outside of Preschool. This encourages communication and language  and supports your child’s development within their daily experiences at Preschool.

We use an online system called Tapestry to post photos, observations and comments in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage. It is a record of your child’s journey with us and is a great communication tool.

Tapestry is a 'closed' system. You are given password protected access to your child’s online learning journey and can even give access to grandparents and wider family should you so wish. You are able to contribute to it by uploading photos, videos and comments about family experiences outside the setting. Tapestry is also used to send challenges home for you to get actively involved in your child's targets and development needs.

In addition to any adhoc discussions around how your child is developing, twice a year you will receive communication through the means of a  ‘Summative statement’ which will inform you of your child’s progress, achievements and next steps. We aim to complete these within the  Autumn  and Summer Term. In addition to these reports, you will have a face to face Parents evening where you get the opportunity to meet your child's Key Person and ask any questions you may have. It is a wonderful moment for us, being able to share insights into your child's day.

Even though we are a very fast paced setting, we will inform you on collection of any problems or injuries that have happened during the day. You will also receive, via email, a weekly update from the Preschool Manager, outlining topics, activities and general information you need to know. It may even have a request for resources, ideas for activities at home and important dates for upcoming events.

We plan various events throughout the academic year where parents/carers and grandparents can come and join in the fun. Popular ones are the annual sports day in the Summer and the Preschool Graduation. Children will also enjoy a Christmas Breakfast, Craft Mornings and an Easter Parade.

At any time we are only a phone call or email away. We will endeavour to reply to emails within 3 working days, between 9am and 3pm. If an email is urgent please indicate this is in the email Subject Heading and we will reply as soon as possible. We are not just here for the children, and appreciate that you may need some support too. You and your child are part of our preschool family.

As a parent, you are welcome to view the settings policies and procedures at any time (which are available in the preschool office).

When your family joins us we also ask that you as parents/carers sign up to a Code of Conduct with us. This helps keep our setting safe and running smoothly. If there are any queries please do not hesitate to contact the Manager.

Code of Conduct for Parents/Guardians/Carers

We do have requests of you too – we have a Parent Code of Conduct that we ask all our families to sign up to:

Lapal Grange Preschool is committed to ensuring that all children are safeguarded whilst in our care. You can help us to maintain our responsibilities and ensure a safe and positive environment for our children and staff in the following ways:
