Fees Facts – Children who are 2 years old

Children can join Lapal Grange Preschool from their 2nd birthday. There are 2 funding options: (i)Fully payable fees or (ii)Subsidised fees with 15 hours free funding under Dudley’s Time for Twos scheme and some fees payable for food.

(i)Fully Payable Fees

If you do not qualify for Time For Twos (detailed below) then the fees payable are:

  • Registration Fee £60 - one off fee payable when child joins us. This covers staff time for your Home Visit before joining us, a book-bag, a purple legionnaire sun hat and sun care for the duration of your child’s time with us (meaning you don’t have to worry about sun cream)
  • Morning Session £26.50 - includes breakfast/morning snack and lunch
  • Afternoon Session £23.50 - includes afternoon snack
  • PE - optional PE sessions. These are sessions run by an external coach on two mornings a week. The cost is £6 per month per session and is completely optional. If you would like your child to take part let us know and we will invoice you once they have started. If you would like a free taster session to see if they like the session before committing to the payment, then please let us know.
  • Tax Free Childcare may be available to you which saves you 20% on all the above fees. Look at the following link to see if you are eligible - https://www.gov.uk/tax-free-childcare
  • Your child will become eligible for Government funding of 15 or 30 hours from the term after their 3rd Then fees will be calculated as for section (ii) below ie food is payable plus the 39th week. You can see whether you will be eligible for 30 hours at https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare
  • Tax free childcare can be used alongside 30 hours free childcare.

(ii)Government Funding Time for Twos plus fees for food/sessions

Some two-year-olds may be able to get up to 15 hours of free childcare. This is known as Time for Twos in Dudley. It applies to anyone who attends our setting regardless of their address – Sandwell and Birmingham children are also covered.

You can apply for a Time for Twos place for your child as soon as they have had their second birthday.  The free childcare place runs for three terms until your child moves in to their free early education place the term after their third birthday.

There are still some fees to be paid over and above the Government funding as follows:

  • Registration Fee £60 - one off fee payable when child joins us. This covers staff time for your Home Visit before joining us, a bookbag, a purple legionnaire sun hat and sun care for the duration of your child’s time with us (meaning you don’t have to worry about sun cream)
  • Morning Session £4.50 - breakfast/morning snack and lunch
  • Afternoon Session £1.50 - afternoon snack
  • Session fees **Government funding only covers 38 weeks of the year, and we are open for 39 weeks so there is always 1 week maximum per year that is payable, depending on our opening dates. This costs an extra £22 per session so for a 15 hour place this will cost up to £110. This is the maximum you will pay on top of the food fees and will be spread over 11 months**. This is payable by everyone as we must staff up for the 39th week so if you take a place with us you are committing to this 39th
  • PE - optional PE sessions. These are sessions run by an external coach on two mornings a week. The cost is £6 per month per session and is completely optional. If you would like your child to take part let us know and we will invoice you once they have started. If you would like a free taster session to see if they like the session before committing to the payment then please let us know.

Extra hours above 15 hours - if you want more than 15 hours then any extra sessions will be chargeable at the full session price of £26.50 or £23.50 depending on the extra session
